Albemarle Foundation Awards Grants to Honor Kings Mountain Anniversary |
In celebration of Kings Mountain's 150th anniversary, the Albemarle Foundation has awarded $150,000 in grants to 21 non-profit organizations serving Cleveland County. These grants honor the city's rich history and invest in its future by supporting workforce development, community health, safety and economic vitality initiatives. |

Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Scoping Report Released |
As part of Albemarle’s commitment to responsible mining operations and to better understand and manage potential impacts from the proposed mine, Albemarle is conducting an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA). After releasing our draft Scoping Report in June, we received over 200 comments from community members. A summary of these comments is included in this final Scoping Report and the feedback will help inform the analysis of potential impacts. |

An Update on Odor Near the Kings Mountain Site
As members of the Kings Mountain community, we want to share more about the actions we’ve taken regarding the odor near the mine pit, and our collaboration with local officials to ensure everyone remains well informed. The odor is a result of water in the Kings Mountain Mine pit experiencing a natural event commonly referred to as “turning over,” which can happen in lakes and ponds in our region and throughout the world.

Albemarle staff and their families enjoyed riding through town on our electric bus, joined by the Gateway Trail non-profit organization, which showcased their festively decorated trail bear. |

NC Med Assist |
Albemarle partnered with the non-profit to bring essential health resources to our community through a mobile free pharmacy program. We served 524 community members at the December 6 event. |

Angel Tree |
This program was created to bring holiday joy to children in the Kings Mountain school system who might otherwise go without gifts. This year, Albemarle employees sponsored 24 children, fulfilling their wish lists and brightening their holiday season.
Angel Richardson, a school social worker at Kings Mountain Middle School expressed gratitude on behalf of the school, “Your support will be remembered and appreciated for serving our families when it was needed the most.” |
