Understanding the Resource Before Mining Begins |
 |
At Albemarle, advanced technology and a team of subject matter experts have created a sophisticated understanding of the resource before the mine is operational. The visual above illustrates the resource at the Kings Mountain Mine site. Current onsite drilling supports the transition from project stage to development, further building the company’s confidence in the resource. This effort will obtain essential geological data and test resource extensions to support planned mining operations.

Cleveland County Commission Honors Albemarle for Emergency-Response Training Support |
In a proclamation issued in July, the Cleveland County Commission formally honored Albemarle for facilitating emergency‑response training at its Kings Mountain facility. We acquired several perimeter properties intended as visual and noise buffers. Albemarle offered the use of these unoccupied structures for training opportunities before they are demolished. Since March, more than 100 emergency responders, students and K‑9 officers have taken part, with additional training planned through 2025. |

Last year we awarded 21 local grants in honor of the City of Kings Mountain's 150th Anniversary. This year, we will continue to highlight a few of these recipients every month to follow the contributions they are making to their communities: |

|
Kings Mountain YMCA Camp |
Funding from the grant supported the Kings Mountain YMCA's offsite summer camp. Local children enjoyed a week of hands-on learning, outdoor fun and meaningful connection in partnership with the Davidson Association and Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Campers explored activities like slime-making, stone painting and erupting volcano experiments, while also enjoying outdoor games. Each day began with devotions that encouraged kindness and community spirit. |

Responsible Mining at Kings Mountain: Dust Control |
At Albemarle, protecting our community and environment is a top priority. That’s why we plan to implement a comprehensive dust control strategy at our Kings Mountain site.
To minimize airborne particles during mining and rock crushing, we’re using:
These measures are expected to reduce dust during construction and mine operations to provide a safer environment for our neighbors and team members. |

Lithium in Our Lives: Airbags |
We all know lithium powers electric cars—but did you know it also plays a role in keeping you safe in standard internal combustion engine vehicles as well?
In modern cars, lithium-ion batteries provide backup power to airbag control units and crash sensors. That means even if your vehicle’s main battery is damaged in a collision, lithium helps ensure your airbags still deploy when you need them most.
It’s just one more way lithium is quietly working behind the scenes to protect what matters. |
